As our daydream continues, Min Hyuk and Bong Soon enjoy a noodle dinner together. Min Hyuk teases Bong Soon about his popularity with the women when he was younger. He tries to subtly (or maybe not so subtly) imply that he and Bong Soon are dating but she immediately shoots him down. He is surprised by her answer but writes it off to a difference in definitions of the word “dating”. He smiles at Bong Soon when he thinks she isn’t looking. Afterward, Min Hyuk sees Bong Soon home. As they arrive in her neighborhood the distant sound of sirens can be heard. Min Hyuk and Bong Soon play a quick game of front doorstep “You hang up first. No, You!”, not realizing that a few blocks away the Creeper has made off with yet another victim. This time it is Kyung Shim.
Back at police headquarters, the detectives grumble in frustration that their intended target managed to slip through their nets. The detectives comment that even now it feels as if he is listening to their every word. In fact, the Creeper is trying to listen to the detective’s conversation but the sound of Kyung Shim’s crying is making it difficult for him. He shouts at her to be quiet. We are taken back to headquarters as the detectives try to piece the Creeper case together. Gook Du has a flash of memory from one of his visits to the auto yard. In the office trailer, the owner had a desk full of electronic gadgets and gizmos. Cameras and microphones of varying shapes and sizes littered the desktop. The lead detective and one of his team go to the auto yard and observe from a distance. The ponder what connection the second man at the yard has with the owner. Little do they know that beneath their feet, Kyung Shim is on her knees begging for her life.
At home, Bong Soon sends a text message to Kyung Shim. She tells her that Min Hyuk has asked her out. Bong Soon is unaware that the Creeper has Kyung Shim’s phone. He congratulates her and then allows her to lead the conversation. Bong Soon eventually tells him that if she hurts an innocent person she will lose her powers. The Creeper smiles, believing that he has found the way to defeat Bong Soon. Down in the subway, the bum who found Kyung Shim’s abandoned suitcase in the alley where she was abducted, begins to unpack the case. He finds girly clothes and the wrist locator that Gook Du had given Kyung Shim. He promptly puts the device around his wrist.
Back at police headquarters, Gook Du seems to be in a trance. He is doing all he can to put himself in the Creepers shoes. The police finally realize that the witness statement given by the Creeper was only a means to place a listening device in the stationhouse. The detective team begins to scour the room and Gook Du quickly finds the hidden camera. He tears the camera from the wall. As he does our view changes to that of the Creeper. He realizes that he’s been found out and makes arrangements for his prisoners. He instructs the second man at the auto yard that the women are to be starved. He provides him with an envelope of money and a hand full of syringes.
Min Hyuk and Bong Soon send each other cutesy texts late at night. Min Hyuk reacts to the text he receives like a high school boy with a crush. He can’t stop smiling and he has trouble sleeping. He watches her video text over and over with a dazzling smile on his face. The next day at Ainsoft, Min Hyuk shows off his concept drawing to Bong Soon. She is delighted to see her vision of her video game character self, come to life. With a few tweaks, the character will look exactly like Bong Soon. Min Hyuk tells Secretary Gong to send the concept over to the development team. Somewhere in the city, on a cross town bus, Boss Tak receives a text message from one of his men updating him on the situation with Bong Soon’s boys. They came to the hospital and made a ruckus, leaving Boss Tak’s number 1 with no other choice but to give Boss Tak’s phone number to Bong Soon’s number 1. No sooner is the information received when Boss Tak’s phone rings. He answers to find the leader of Bong Soon’s boys on the other end of the line. Boss Tak explains that he has already apologized to Bong Soon and considers the matter settled but that is not good enough for the Boys. After a few hang ups and ring backs, Boss Tak realizes that he is on the same bus as Bong Soon’s boys. When the bus empties and he no longer has any cover, Boss Tak manages to get off the bus before Bong Soon’s boys are aware of his presence.
In Min Hyuk’s office, Bong Soon is confronted by Mr. Fancy Pants. He assures her that her concept will not make it into development. When he tries to bully her and questions why she hasn’t made him coffee yet, she suggests they go back to the conversation they were having in the conference room the day he was pinned behind the table. Mr. Fancy Pants immediately recoils and Secretary Gong arrives just in time to avert another hissy fit. Secretary Gong tells Mr. Fancy Pants to leave and he does as he is instructed but not before playfully slapping Secretary Gong on the ass on his way out the office door. At police headquarters, the captain encourages the lead detective to let the Creeper case go. He is satisfied that they have caught their criminal and the citizens of Bong Soon’s neighborhood are calmer now that it appears that the danger has passed.
Boss Tak arrives at a temple to find a strange monk sitting high in a tree. He greets the monk and then settles himself on the doorstep of the shrine within the temple grounds. Two of his men arrive and try to bring him back to his former life. Boss Tak instructs his men to live good lives but they protest, stating that a “dog can’t stop pooping”. The mention of poop sends a shudder down Boss Tak’s spine. When his men raise their voices he tells them they should be quiet because the strange monk is at the temple to train. We see the monk standing atop a railing doing some strange movements and flipping his hair. His name is Nizamuddin and he is from India in spite of the fact that he doesn’t look Indian at all. As soon as Boss Tak’s story about Nizamuddin wraps up, a shout is heard from the bottom of the temple stairs. It is Bong Soon’s boys and they’ve come for a fight.
Bong Soon finishes her project and then wanders around Ainsoft looking for Min Hyuk. She finds him in the company seminar room. Once inside the mostly darkened room, Min Hyuk promises to protect her. After several almost kisses, Min Hyuk finally places a kiss on her forehead. Back at the temple, Bong Soon’s boys try to initiate a fight but are stopped by the mysterious monk with the hair flipping habit. Boss Tak kneels and asks for forgiveness and is subjected to a water cleansing ritual. The ritual continues for all of the thugs that are present. Afterward, the strange monk invites everyone in for a meal.
Min Hyuk takes Bong Soon to a seaside apartment to help her find inspiration for her game. He calls it a workshop but it really is a romantic getaway. Every time Bong Soon tries to work on the game, Min Hyuk can only stare at her with dreamy eyes. He finally tempts her outside for a walk by the ocean. They play in the surf and Min Hyuk eventually grabs a stick and draws half a heart in the sand. He asks Bong Soon if she will join him and she too grabs a stick and draws the other half of the heart in the sand. They face each other and look into each other’s eyes for a long moment. Min Hyuk kisses her as the waves gently roll ashore. Later that night, Min Hyuk takes Bong Soon home. He confesses that sometimes he can’t remember what she looks like and it makes him sad. He asks to look at her for a little while longer.
Once inside her room, Bong Soon tries to concentrate on the presentation that she wasn’t able to work on earlier in the day. Her brother arrives and asks when Kyung Shim is coming home. He wants some of her special fishcake stew. Bong Soon says that she will find out when Kyung Shim is going to return. When she sends a text to Kyung Shim the answer she receives is not Kyung Shim’s typical texting tone. Bong Soon calls Gook Du and asks him to track the wrist locator that he gave her. As she waits to hear back from Gook Du she sends a message to Kyung Shim asking how “Dol Kong” is doing. The reply is wrong and Bong Soon rushes from her room. Meanwhile, Gook Du and the lead detective find the bum in the subway wearing the wrist locator with Kyung Shim’s suitcase resting nearby. Back at police headquarters, the detective team decides to search the auto yard again. The lead detective says that he will take responsibility if the squad gets in trouble. The captain tries to stop them but none of the men listen to his threats as they push past him on their way out of the squad room.
Min Hyuk sends a text to Bong Soon to let her know that her meeting the next day can be rescheduled. He is unaware that she is searching the streets for Kyung Shim. Bong Soon arrives at the auto yard in a panic. Gook Du tries to stop Bong Soon from entering the auto yard. She tells him about the text she sent and the incorrect answer she received. Gook Du cannot hold her and she begins to search the yard with the other detectives. When they find out that the Creeper hasn’t been there all day, everyone leaves. Back at home Bong Soon receives a terrifying video message from the Creeper. He has Kyung Shim. He tells her to find them or Kyung Shim is dead. He also demands an apology. Bong Soon races to Min Hyuk’s house and begs for his help.
This episode really ramps up the action in three different departments. The romance for this episode is full steam ahead as Min Hyuk finally kisses Bong Soon. It’s about time after so many incomplete attempts. All he needed was a thimble full of courage to kiss such an adorable and expectant face. Don’t get me wrong, waiting for all of the signals to be right is important but sometimes you gotta take the risk to get the ball rolling. Same could be said for Bong Soon. There were a few times where Min Hyuk goes 90% and he’s clearly waiting for her to meet him with the other 10% and she just doesn’t do it. Note to all the girls in drama land…if he’s that close to you, he’s looking to be kissed. Take the risk and just do it. And keep your eyes shut while you do!!
Our second department for an action increase is danger. Our cops are starting to figure out how the Creeper is always two steps ahead of them. Finding the hidden camera is huge and hopefully, there isn’t a backup hidden camera somewhere else that we don’t know about. The good guys have got to catch a break, otherwise one of our near and dear is going to die. Bong Soon was particularly clever in asking a question with a set answer. I’m guessing that Dol Kong is a much beloved but long-dead dog that belonged to Kyung Shim. Hopefully, the next episode will explain her question in a bit more detail. The Creeper knows he’s caught. What will he do when he’s backed into a corner?
The third action increase is in the weird department. We have added a strange hair flipping monk to our cast of poop drinking, gum popping, doppelganger having, bunch of weirdos. Will he serve some mystical purpose or is he just here for a bit of levity? Could he be someone who understands the secret to Bong Soon’s strength? I wonder if his water ceremony will actually change all of the thugs? And if it did change them, will all of them join forces to help Bong Soon?
